On April 23, 2014, Wednesday, CIC, Canada, announced key steps in some important areas pertaining to some of the popular immigration programs. These programs include Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The changes to these programs include increasing the cap of applications that will be accepted under each of the program. Thus, some important changes to these programs have been made and caps increased for each of them and all of these will take effect from May 1st, 2014.Thus, in the FSWP, a new cap of 25,000 applications will help, aid and support expected admissions in 2015. Also enhanced is the Canada FSW occupation list of occupations, from 24 occupations to 50 occupations. As stated above, The FSW program will accept 25,000 applications and the applicants to this program must have at the least 1 year work experience in one of the 50 eligible occupations. A total limit or cap of 1,000 applications will be accepted as being eligible per occupation. Some of the Canada FSW occupation list include senior managers – financial, communications and other business services (NOC 0013), Financial managers (0111), Petroleum engineers (2145), and similar such.
