The Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP), will start accepting applications from skilled individuals for the second time in this year, starting from August 16th. Prospective candidates can create an online account in the management system called “Mon Projet Québec”, within two weeks.
According to Montreal time, Quebec immigration will start accepting applications from 8:30 a.m on August 16th, 2016. This intake will accept 5000 applicants, possibly this could be the last intake for this year.
Quebec Immigration Attractive for many reasons:
Quebec Immigration has special importance in Canada. The province consists of a majority of French population. The agreement with Federal Canada allows Quebec to attract skilled professionals based on the demand for skilled labor in the market.
Unlike the ‘Canada Express Entry Scheme’… candidates for QSWP will not require to showcase evidence of either French or English scores, if they meet all other factors of Quebec Skilled Workers Program.
Individuals with lowest IELTS scores can also apply for this program. The QSWP program awards four points with a result of band five in each section of the test, whereas other skilled programs will consider results below a band six.
One of the biggest advantages is, job offers not being a mandatory requirement to apply for the Quebec Skilled Workers Program. Aspirants without work experience can also apply for this program. Indeed, it is the last intake of the year, and the first come-first serve system may no longer act as a catalyst to accept immigrants in Quebec.
Quebec also has plans to introduce ‘expression of interest’ (EOI) immigration system. The Immigration programs of Quebec will undergo numerous changes as the Province’s Immigration Minister Kathleen Weil announced for major changes in the year 2016.
