According to the announcement by the Canadian government the citizenship applicants who have failed in their knowledge test no longer need to wait for a number of months for an appointment with the citizenship judge, who will give the final decision on their case. Since the announcement, the applicants for Canadian Citizenship will be informed about their results as soon as the test is completed. Applicants who have failed but have met all the other criteria will get an opportunity to rewrite the test a few weeks later. They will be called for a citizenship ceremony if they pass their test. The applicants who have previously failed in the test will be provided a date to rewrite the test.
Canadian government remains committed to maintaining Canada's tradition of high numbers of permanent residents who take up full citizenship. This is the recent improvement that has been made to the citizenship process. This will ensure the timely welcome of new citizens.
There is another change in the citizenship rule which states that all the family members who apply together on one citizenship application will no longer be approved at the same time. Applicants who have to pass the test will be informed that their applications have been processed independently of other family members. The applicants will now have shorter wait times and increased chances to get citizenship as there is an increase in the number of citizenship judges.
