If the above minimum eligibility requirements are met, the CIC will process the applicant’s application for the Permanent residency in Canada program provided he/she gets the minimum necessary points on a ‘points selection grid’. Points are allocated for skills in English and/or French, Canada’s two official languages, education, work experience, age, whether the applicant has ‘arranged employment in Canada’ or not and adaptability. The points calculator system has allocated a maximum number of points for each of the factors in the selection grid and these are English/French skills (a maximum of 28 points), Education (a maximum of 25 points), work experience (15 points), age (12 points), arranged employment in Canada (10 points) and adaptability (10 points). An applicant must obtain a minimum of 67 points out of a maximum of 100 points to be eligible to apply for permanent residency to Canada.

under the federal skilled workers scheme, after the above requirements are understood and met, the applicant must get or obtain the application package and follow and fill up the application requirements there.
