The Hong kong Quality Migrant Admission Scheme, also known as QMAS (of Hong Kong), as the name applies, is intended to attract talented and quality immigrants to its shores and for permanent settlement in Hong Kong and was introduced by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, a special region of the People’s Republic of China (i.e. PRC). It is a quota-based scheme and seeks to bring in and draw skilled and talented people into the country.
One main feature of the scheme is that the scheme does not require the applicant to have a job offer or a job in Hong Kong for being considered as an applicant under the Hong Kong Quality Migrant Admission Scheme (QMAS).
How to Get a Hong Kong Quality Migrant Admission Scheme QMAS:
The scheme is or constitutes of two-step process and the first step comprises of pre-requisites which every applicant must satisfy and the second step comprises of two ‘selection tests’, either of which an applicant is expected to pass and by competing with other applicants under a quota-based (i.e. with/having a quota limit) and points-based scheme. But, it is also true that the applicant can apply for only one of the two tests (the general points test, or the achievements-based test).
The pre-requisites (or, minimum criteria) are related to ‘age’, ‘financial status or requirements’, ‘good character’, ‘language proficiency’, and ‘basic educational qualifications’. Thus, as for as the ‘age‘ of the applicant is concerned, the applicant must be above the age of 18 years, and as for as the ‘financial status or requirements’ is concerned, he/she must be able to provide for himself/herself and his/her dependents when in Hong Kong.
