The study of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) unveiled that the absolute wage levels difference between Canada and America have dissipated since the 2008-2009 global financial crisis.
Less educated Canadians earn more against less educated Americans whereas the Canadians who are well educated earn a bit less when compared to well-educated Americans. The wage levels and jobs in Canada in various sectors like business and finance, transportation, wholesale & retail and utilities are considerably less when compared with the United States. For the sectors like construction, personal services and public administration and community services the wage levels are equal with those of the US but for primary sectors like resource extraction the pay packages are more.
Eric Morrissette, a spokesperson at Employment and Social Development Canada, said that wage levels are a major aspect for Canadian living standards; the comparison assists Canada to enlighten its international competitiveness.
